Job Description
Due to large project wins our client requires contract mechanical design engineers with experience in special purpose machinery for packaging and labelling. Good SolidWorks skills are essential. The Role is based in the Manchester area and offers a 3 month + contract. Creating innovative mechanical designs and metrification (Convert Imperial to metric) of third party designs, this position is involved and demands all aspects of project work in taking a prototype to market.
Person Specification
A self motivated, committed engineer with the ability to work with minimal supervision as part of a multi-disciplined team is required.This role is not suitable for Engineers with less than 3 years experience in special purpose machinery nor those not used to the demands and environment of project work.
Qualifications & Experience
Mechanical Design/Engineering qualification to HNC/HND standard.With 3+ equivalent years of experience in machinery design, ideally with a basic understanding of electrical control systems. Knowledge of designing components for efficient, cost effective manufacture and procurement. Understanding of conveyors, drives, bore screw and linear actuators. Strong SolidWorks skills creating parts lists and bill of materials with detailed design to BS308/BS8888. Up to date knowledge for compliance with relevant legislation, in particular CE machinery directive.
Salary Package
