Geojobi® launched with the simple goal of asking SolidWorks Designers "Where Do You Want to Work?"

This basic question has allowed hundreds of SolidWorks Designers to define their personal and business needs using our innovative maps and travel radius features.

When our team of Product Designers at Solid Contracts Ltd developed the Geojobi® solution they found themselves asking deep questions about how a Product Designer or Mechanical Engineer can express their design interests in a simple way.

Of course Product Designers are complex creatures and many will disagree that such a thing can be done effectively. We genuinely dont know whether our ArtEngineer solution is reliable however we do know that it raises many questions and helps interviewers discover new sides to a design engineers interests.

We have started asking the following questions on social media sites such as LinkedIn, twitter and facebook:

1) Are you an ARTIST or an ENGINEER?
2) Do you prefer IDEAS or DETAILS?

The Geojobi iPhone App already includes this feature within the solution so Product Designers with SolidWorks skills can share their very personal desires about the type of designer they want to be in a very quick way.

The WebApp solution does not currently have this feature however subject to the feedback and responses we see from our Polls we will decide on whether or not such a feature is beneficial to users of Geojobi.

SolidWorks on IPhone 5.0

While sitting at my desk patiently waiting for iTunes to download todays iPhone iOS 5.0 software update, I started thinking about the day when Apple and SolidWorks start playing together.

I'm convinced that when this happens it will be using some type of Cloud solution and will integrate nicely within the touch screen of Apples current products. PDM Enterprise will integrate as standard to manage the cloud data while holographic previews using the latest optical technology will help designers share ideas faster in interactive design teams.

I think that change is the most exciting factor in the technology industry. As designers new ideas open up new challenges to solve, which I personally believe keeps us fresh, excited and sharp.

SolidWorks is not yet available on iOS 5 but Apple are changing the way we work through their incredible products and I'm sure that all CAD developers are watching these changes with great interest.

SolidWorks focus making all the difference

Solid Contracts is now being recognised across the UK for their specialist SolidWorks recruitment services.

Once upon a time new business opportunities for Solid Contracts were only uncovered through lots of cold calling, networking events and magazine advertising. Larger Premises for The SolidWorks Recruitment Company

In March 2010, Solid Contracts Ltd, The SolidWorks Recruitment Company, moved into larger premises based in central Bournemouth, 5 minutes walk from the beach and only 2 hours from central London by car or train.

The new offices allow Solid Contracts to grow the team significantly over the next 9 months and improve their capabilities in managing the increased demand for SolidWorks jobs through out the UK.

The new facilities are part of the continuous improvement plan which has already seen dramatic changes in the teams ability to identify, select and introduce a single SolidWorks design engineer without the need for multiple CVs.

The offices will hold up to 8 full time SolidWorks Recruitment Consultants who will focus on supporting both permanent and contract SolidWorks jobs located in England, Scotland and Wales. The Solid Contracts part time staff and out-of-office team will also benefit from the serviced offices, which can be accessed at a moment notice.

Solid Contracts Ltd is supporting the 2010 CAD Competition, which is being run by a well established consumer product design organisation in conjuction with Cadooku - the place to make money from your SolidWorks models.

In 2009 Solid Contracts helped a few talented under graduate designers find short term placements within various design organisations around the UK.
