Free SolidWorks for the Unemployed
Thursday 12 February 2009 9:38 PM
SolidWorks CEO Jeff Ray has confirmed there is to be a new initiative launched later in the year called the ‘Engineering Stimulus Package’. This initiative is being implemented into the SolidWorks channel to support those engineers unfortunate enough to find themselves out of work during the global credit crunch. With the support of local SolidWorks Value Added Resellers (VARs), unemployed engineers will be eligible for a free personal version of SolidWorks. In addition to this free SolidWorks license, further support will be given to help these engineers achieve a Certified SolidWorks Professional (CSWP) status. Achieving CSWP status gives a potential employer a strong indication that you are a professional user of SolidWorks. For further information on the CSWP status please follow the below link:

Jeff Ray has also confirmed the Engineering Stimulus Package will be a global roll-out and not just in the USA. Further information will be available after the official Engineering Stimulus Package Press Release later in the year.
