Autodesk Announce Major Pricing Change
Monday 30 March 2009 10:05 PM
Autodesk announce major changes to their product portfolio pricing structure to take effect on 16th March 2010. If you’re an Autodesk customer currently paying an annual subscription fee then this pricing change will not affect you. However, those choosing not to pay Autodesk’s annual subscription should take note of the proposed price change.
As of the 16th March 2010 Autodesk will retire their current upgrade pricing structure and replace it with a new scheme. This proposal means some Autodesk customers could end up paying over 3 times what they are now. Under this new scheme upgrades and cross-grades will be priced at 50% of the full retail price. For those deciding to simply upgrade at their own discretion (i.e. when useful or productivity enhancing functionality is introduced), rather than be tied in to an annual subscription contract, this change could equate to a significant price increase.
To fully understand how this price change could affect you please consult your Autodesk Value Added Reseller (VAR).
