Tuesday 14 October 2008 9:25 PM
In an announcement from the PR Agency of Autodesk, it was confirmed that Mechanical Desktop will no longer be supported by Autodesk. Mechanical Desktop 2009 will be the last release of the product as their main focus will now be on developing both Autodesk Inventor and Autodesk Mechanical.
For those currently using Mechanical Desktop as their main design tool it is important to note the following:
• Autodesk will continue to support customers on subscription for a period of 3 years after the removal of Mechanical Desktop from the Inventor Series product line. • You will be able to download Mechanical Desktop 2009 with future releases of Inventor. • Autodesk will continue to support the DWG Import Wizard for part, drawing and assembly files. • A new MDT to Inventor migration tool kit has been developed by Autodesk and is available to customers on subscription.
