SolidWorks on IPhone 5.0

While sitting at my desk patiently waiting for iTunes to download todays iPhone iOS 5.0 software update, I started thinking about the day when Apple and SolidWorks start playing together.

I'm convinced that when this happens it will be using some type of Cloud solution and will integrate nicely within the touch screen of Apples current products. PDM Enterprise will integrate as standard to manage the cloud data while holographic previews using the latest optical technology will help designers share ideas faster in interactive design teams.

I think that change is the most exciting factor in the technology industry. As designers new ideas open up new challenges to solve, which I personally believe keeps us fresh, excited and sharp.

SolidWorks is not yet available on iOS 5 but Apple are changing the way we work through their incredible products and I'm sure that all CAD developers are watching these changes with great interest.

Solid Contracts is now being recognised across the UK for their specialist SolidWorks recruitment services.

Once upon a time new business opportunities for Solid Contracts were only uncovered through lots of cold calling, networking events and magazine advertising. There are some exciting developments occurring in both companies so stay in contact with our team to find out how your design career could benefit from the latest investments in processes and technology.

Remember that to find the perfect job (if it really exists!), you should be talking to Solid Contracts team both when you are looking for work and when you are happy in your current role.

### FREE MAINSTREAM 3D CAD LICENSES WITH PLACEMENT! ####

At Solid Contracts we asked ourselves; what would be better than investing your business profits into a license of a world class 3D CAD system such as SolidWorks 2010? The answer we came up with was rather simple; Invest money in people and get 3D CAD software for FREE!

After a great deal of thought and planning we have done it. You can buy 3D CAD software at a very competitive price but we want you to invest your profits in finding the best design engineers for your team. We already believe that products like SolidWorks offer the best mainstream 3D CAD solution for design teams so take the costs away and you have a truly powerful 3D CAD solution with an immediate ROI.

As a promotion of our services, we, The SolidWorks Recruitment Company, are offering to cover the costs of a Mainstream 3D CAD license with every placement made at our standard fee, before 19th November 2009.

Finding the right people at the right time in their career with the right capabilities is not an easy task. We specialise specifically on identifying the best design engineers with SolidWorks capabilities for you.

To align this promotion with the powerful capabilities provided by products like SolidWorks 2010 we have designed an offer that gives you more 3D CAD functionality based on the salary level of your new employee. For example, with SolidWorks Licenses we would offer:

Get 1 x SolidWorks Classic License with every £20,000 to £25,000 placement

Get 1 x SolidWorks Professional License with every £25,000 to £30,000 placement

Get 1 x SolidWorks Premium License with every £30,000 to £35,000 placement

We aim to be different so if you have previously seen any other recruitment promotion similar to this one then we’ll also include some 3D CAD branded stationary in our offer!

Please note that in order for us to offer the best service to our customers we are limiting this offer to the first 20 companies that contact us.

Please do contact us for full terms and conditions relating to this offer. We expect this offer of FREE 3D CAD Software to be taken up within a matter of days so do not hesitate to get in touch today.

(Please note that Solid Contracts does not claim to represent or offer any services on behalf of any 3D CAD organisation such as SolidWorks Corp, Dassault Corp or any of it's subsidiaries.)

Show me the money.....Good or Bad for your career?

I recently interviewed a senior design engineer for a role as a Strategic Design Manager within a SolidWorks design company. While discussing the key drivers for this individuals career I realised that salary was merely an after thought in terms of what criteria the next role needed to meet.

Many of us designers want to work on the exciting and challenging projects that will shape the world of tomorrow, and I'm pleased to say that from what we have seen, many of us will not turn down the ideal job simply because the salary did not exceed expectations. Although money is key for our survival, and we often use it as a measure or confirmation of our worth in our jobs and society, I believe that the most successful individuals focus on jobs that challenge them and develop their passion as a priority over the salary.

Solid Contracts has supported creative product design consultancy businesses through to mechanical engineering design projects for large multi billion pound organisations. Recently however we helped a new start-up product design business (using SolidWorks) to find some motivated designers that would work for very little pay but gain some great design experience to start them off on their career. During this search process we encountered some very inspiring individuals who were clearly focused on building a strong career they were passionate about rather than simply making money in the short term.

The purpose of this news item is to share the idea that individuals earning large salaries with exciting design jobs, has in our opinion, come from the individuals desire to have something more than financial wealth. It appears that if we focus on finding jobs in areas that we like and projects that excite us, then the great financial rewards we often seek will undoubtedly follow.

Show me the money! of course, why not? But show me the career, new challenges and personal development opportunities first.

Dassault Systemes SolidWorks Corp. confirm global sales of their mainstream mechanical design solution SolidWorks have reached 1,000,000 licenses. This is a huge psychological boost for SolidWorks and helps to reaffirm their position as a market leader within the 3D CAD industry.

Jon Hirschtick founded SolidWorks in 1993 with the vision to create a powerful and reasonably priced 3D CAD system able to run on a PC. Since this time SolidWorks have consistently grabbed market share and is now considered one of the leading mainstream mechanical design tools in the world.

SolidWorks CEO Jeff Ray had this to say about reaching this important milestone:

“We are excited to reach the million mark and very grateful for each customer that has trusted SolidWorks software to help drive his or her organization’s success. Because of this responsibility, we’re constantly working to make SolidWorks products worthy of customer’s loyalty by supporting their creative visions. This milestone is really only the beginning. The future holds some very exciting possibilities.”

Solid Contracts – CAD Recruitment
